Professional Development

The Friends offers a web of environmental professional development activities to the HSES faculty that includes after-school workshops and lectures, support to attend environmentally focused conferences, grants for curriculum development and a yearly staff retreat.  These programs help teachers, the majority of whom had no environmental background before coming to teach at HSES, build environmental literacy and infuse current environmental research and issues into their classroom.
